Starting your coffee machine or monitoring your baby has never been so easy, and yet, we have never been this exposed to electromagnetic radiation as we are now. So, is Wi-Fi safe? The discussion tends to become quite controversial. While some people believe that this technology is extremely safe and want their whole house to run on Wi-Fi, others fear the harmful effects of Wi-Fi so much that they want to move to the mountains and communicate via letters.  So, what is the truth? Well, the truth is in between those two extreme positions. While being exposed to Wi-Fi will not make you sick immediately, it can actually have long term effects on your health, affecting some of your bodily functions and causing neurodegenerative diseases or cancer. However, it is hard to find a direct connection between your Wi-Fi exposure and any disease you might develop, due to the slow progression of said health problems.  The lack of studies makes it even harder to prove that electromagnetic radiation is linked to the progression or development of cancer. However, studies conducted on rodents claim that being exposed to radiation can, in reality, worsen a cancer prognosis.  Luckily, it’s possible to become less exposed to Wi-Fi radiations. Here are the steps you can take:

1. Turn off your Wi-Fi router before bedtime

Resting properly is one of the best ways to ensure the maintenance of your overall health. To ensure the quality of your sleep, be sure to turn off your Wi-Fi before heading to bed. Studies show that the Wi-Fi signal can interfere with your brain while you are asleep. Turning it off during nighttime is a way to cut down the exposure levels by as much as 33%. Having a Wi-Fi curfew can also impact other areas of your life, as you will be more predisposed to engage in other hobbies rather than being online all the time, and you will have more time for your partner.
