7 Unexpected Things that Are Badly Staining Your Teeth!

Last Updated on April 1, 2020

The whiteness of your teeth can be dulled if you often consume marinades or dressings that contain balsamic vinegar. This ingredient is strong and acidic, meaning it can easily lead to stained teeth, especially if they’re not well brushed after eating.

To protect your pearly whites, you need to maintain consistent teeth brushing after such meals, or better yet, cut back on all liquids that are naturally dark, strong, or acidic.

But if it’s already too late, you can still limit the stains caused by balsamic vinegar by adding healthy crunchy foods to your meals, such as croutons, nuts, lettuce, and other veggies that can brush up against your teeth while chewing.

1. Drinking dark beverages

Dark-colored drinks can terribly mess up the whiteness of your teeth, especially if you only brush your teeth once a day and have a complicated relationship with flossing. When it comes to dark beverages, the rule is, if the drink can leave a hard-to-remove spot on your shirt, then it’ll do the same to your teeth.

Such drinks include red wine, tea (especially black tea,) soda, coffee, and anything you wouldn’t want to waste your time scrubbing away from white fabric.

In case you drink tea, coffee, or wine daily, you should make sure to drink plenty of water and chew crunchy veggies to help produce more saliva, which will help keep the stains at bay. You may also want to consider using environment-friendly straws to prevent the dark liquid from touching your teeth in the first place.

Sometimes, we should pay more attention to what we need to avoid instead of focusing only on what we should do, right?
