4. Use the right ratio for diluting
If you’re using a concentrated disinfectant, or you specifically love the concentrated form since it lasts longer and performs better, you should pay close attention when diluting it because you must get the same ratio that’s indicated on the product’s label.
Adding any less or more water will turn your disinfectant against you.
3. Never ever mix
You must never mix any disinfectant of any kind with your cleaning products or other chemicals. Be sure that mixing a disinfectant with any other product will not make it more potent or better smelling! What’ll happen is that the disinfectant will become useless since its properties have been altered.

In case you’re living somewhere with hard water, you should check the label on your concentrated disinfectant to see if it can tolerate hard water so you can be sure that its disinfecting power will still be on when you dilute it.

✔ Kill/Dwell Time: the disinfectant product should quickly kill a specific pathogen, plus, you need to know whether it keeps surfaces visibly wet to work efficiently.
✔ Ease of use: you should be OK with the steps required to use a particular disinfectant. Nothing complicated.
Remember, being informed, evaluating your disinfectant needs, and knowing how to use the products in hand will only lead to sanitary success and better health protection.
