Hospital curtains are contaminated with colonies of bacteria. In fact, studies show that 90 percent of hospital curtains are infected with MRSA bacteria.

MRS (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is caused by a type of staph bacteria that is resistant to some types of antibiotics, which is quite disturbing given that this infection affects several parts of the body and is more difficult to treat.

#4 – Hospital bed rails

It should not come as a surprise that hospital bed rails are crawling with germs. Bed rails are touched by almost everyone who enters the hospital room including patients, doctors, nurses, and visitors.

It is strongly recommended that you wipe the bed rail with anti-bacterial wipes and sanitize your hands whenever you touch it.

Again, don’t touch your face after coming in direct contact with the bed rails.

#5 – Tray tables

Much like chairs and every other part of a hospital, really, rolling carts or tables placed over patients on hospital beds are among the germiest surfaces.

Bacteria get deposited on these tables and picked up from them multiple times a day, making it one of the causes of infections in the millions of Americans who get hospital-acquired infections annually.

Sanitize your eating surface at the hospital with a disinfectant or bleach-water to kill the germs and avoid getting sick.

#6 – The IV Pole

IV poles, the metal poles that are used to hang IV bags are NOT clean.

These metal poles have been shown to be contaminated with none other than the antibiotic-resistant bacteria that cause MRSA0 That is why it is highly advised that you do not directly touch an IV pole, whether as a patient or visitor.

Wash your hands frequently and use a hand sanitizer which is quite effective in countering these harmful bacteria.

#7 – Water faucets

You’d think that only the bathroom seat and floor that are crawling with bacteria. But it should be obvious that water faucet handles at hospital restrooms are colonized by armies of illness-causing bacteria from droplets and fecal matters.
