4. Cutting Boards Made Of Plastic

Plastic cutting boards are a classic kitchen staple, but they can represent a health danger. When you cut your food on top of those boards, a web of fissures generates, and inside those fissures, bacteria can find a home, later getting your food infected and leading to a final episode of food poisoning.

Plus, with constant usage, there is a chance that a few plastic particles will find a way into your food.

5. Aluminum Foil

People use aluminum foil to wrap and store their food items, but if some of it ends up in your food, it can pose a risk for your health.

For example, if you are cooking something in the oven and you are using aluminum foil to wrap it, the high temperatures can leach of particles of aluminum, especially if you are cooking acidic foods, like tomatoes.

6. Gas Stovetops

The vast majority of modern households don’t use gas stovetops anymore, but some people prefer it as they claim it cooks their food more evenly than electric stoves.

But if your kitchen doesn’t have proper ventilation, the gas stove can become a hazard because you will end up with gases like carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, or nitrogen dioxide in the air. The latter is particularly bad for people who already suffer from respiratory conditions.

A great variety of household cleaning products contain a substance called Ammonia, and this doesn’t happen by chance – the liquid form of Ammonia is great for house cleaning.

But, of course, you need to know how to use it! Ammonia has the power of destroying your eyes, your skin, and even your lungs, putting you at risk of becoming blind, and developing lung problems.

Eventually, it can also cause your death. Even the smell can be irritating, so whenever and wherever you use it, make sure you use it in a ventilated space.
