However, one of the symptoms of a cold is a sore throat, and it is a popular belief that gargling with mouthwash can help ease the pain, but in reality, that can do more harm than good.
The tonsils are inflamed, which is why you experience discomfort, and exposing inflamed tonsils to mouth wash can irritate the area even more. If you really want that sore throat feeling to go away, ingest plenty of warm liquids and get some proper rest.

But for some reason, people have been using coins to try and treat ailments for ages – things like placing a coin on a baby’s belly button in order to heal umbilical hernia, for example.
And even though this is a widespread belief, it is also a very dangerous one, since money is one of the dirtiest things in this world, and babies are quite sensitive. Using a coin on a baby will not heal the hernia, and it can even cause a skin infection.
6. Breast milk
Some moms really believe that maternal milk can clear up skin conditions, but science has yet to prove that theory. Plus, it is dangerous, as breast milk can actually pass on infectious diseases as serious as HIV.
