– Brush and clean after each and every meal. You should also do it after drinking any sugary beverage. If you eat lunch at work, make sure you carry a toothbrush with you.

– Avoid sugary food and candy.

– Always floss after cleaning your teeth! If not then once a day would be fair enough.

– Drink the daily recommended amount of water.

– Maintain a healthy eating lifestyle.

– Have a dental check-up every six months (or ask your dentist how many dental visits he recommends for your specific case).

To conclude, here’s how to properly brush and floss your teeth (remember that this process should take at least two minutes).

Brush:

– Use a generous amount of your favorite toothpaste.

– Your toothbrush should be kept at a 45-degree angle to the gums.

– Alternate between the back and forth movements in short strokes and a circular motion.

– Make sure you the entire surface of the teeth is covered.

– Spit out the toothpaste without rinsing (this will ensure your mouth continues protected against tooth decay)

Floss:

– Use approximately 18 inches of floss and wind most of it around each middle finger (leave 2 inches of floss in between them).

– Hold it between both your thumbs and index fingers.

– Slide it between your teeth in gentle up-down movements.

– Make sure the floss reaches beneath the gum line.

– Switch to the clean parts of the floss as it will get dirty from tooth to tooth.
