8 Daily Habits that Will Speed Up Your Weight Loss Journey

Trying to shed weight can be tough, but not impossible! Even though the internet is filled with miraculous articles that promise you can reach your goals in a week, the reality is quite different. But while there are no magical potions or extraordinary tricks on how to lose weight properly, there are some daily habits that will help speed up the process. So, here are 8 little things you can start doing to help with your weight loss journey!

1. Light a vanilla candle

Lighting a candle can be a great way to create a pleasant atmosphere around your house, but you probably never thought that candles could work as a complement to your weight loss diet, right? Well, they can, especially vanilla scented candles. The sweet smell of vanilla has the power to halt your appetite, keeping you away from those sweet cravings that often taunt you during your diet. 

2. Don’t peel your fruits and veggies

Sticking to a healthy diet is one of the best ways to ensure that your weight loss journey is successful. And, of course, a healthy diet’s main components are veggies and fruits. These foods, however, become even healthier when you eat the peel as well. The peel of veggies and fruit is usually packed with fiber and antioxidants, which promotes satiety. The good bacteria that inhabit your gut feeds on fiber to produce fatty acids. Aside from helping with weight loss, consuming the peels can also benefit your general health since it prevents diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and cancer. 

3. Put a mirror in front of your table

A study has been conducted on 185 students to prove the impact of acknowledging our food choices. Half the students were given a fruit salad, while the other 50% was handed a chocolate cake. Then, the students had to eat their food in front of a mirror. While the ones who were eating a fruit salad were able to enjoy themselves, the ones eating a chocolate cake weren’t able to do so. The conclusion? We do not like the image of ourselves overeating. By eating in front of a mirror, we tend to avoid indulging.
