#1 – Sedentary lifestyle & too much seating
Our sedentary lifestyle is slowly killing us, and we can’t even notice it because we are just too comfortable. Our modern lifestyles request that we spend most of our days seated, that’s true — but you must take action to contradict this.
Sedentary lifestyle is one of the leading causes of heart disease. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like it or if you don’t find an activity that you consider suited for you: you need some healthy heart exercises or cardio to get that heart pumping.
The good news is that exercise actually helps prevent heart disease; the bad news is that exercising alone and keeping the same sedentary lifestyle might not be enough. Our recommendation? Exercising and a proactive posture at work — use your breaks to take a walk, use the stairs whenever possible at work, and stretch plenty of times during the day.
