Fever is only one of the symptoms of appendicitis that you need to know about because leaving appendicitis untreated can lead it to burst and spill bacteria into the abdominal cavity which can lead to peritonitis or death.

Other signs of appendicitis include nausea and vomiting, abdominal swelling, loss of appetite, and pain that worsens as you cough, sneeze, or walk. Appendicitis is treated with a special surgery called, “appendectomy.”

#3 – Fever + lower back pain

Fever coupled with lower back pain could either be a result of trauma to the back muscles or indicate urinary tract infection (UTI).

In the case of trauma, your lower back may be extremely tender to the touch and the pain may increase just from a light touch.

Meanwhile, an advanced urinary tract infection, which is an infection affecting any part of your urinary system that includes the bladder, kidneys, ureters, and urethra, can also cause you fever accompanied by lower back pain, pelvic pain, burning sensation when urinating, smelly urine, and blood in the urine.

Either way, you should immediately call your doctor when you experience such symptoms. Urinary tract infection is treated with antibiotics and medications to reduce its symptoms including pain and fever, whereas, back trauma or injury treatment depends on the severity of your case.

#4 – Fever + digestion problems

Digestive disorders, namely Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, and celiac disease can trigger an inflammatory response and hence result in fever.

Fever is often the first sign of gastrointestinal problems, which increases if you experience constipation and then diarrhea that causes your body to react to symptoms of dehydration and increase its temperature.

These diseases can be caused by gut bacteria and if they’re not treated, they can lead to cancer.

#5 – Fever + joint pain

Fever and joint pain are usually indicators of Arthritis, a disease that causes inflammation of multiple joints.

Arthritis, namely rheumatoid arthritis, can trigger not only fever but also cause stiffness, tenderness of the joints, restricted movement, weakness, and body aches that may keep you up at night and cause insomnia in the long run.
